Off Grid Cabin version 2

A cabin where the electricity runs from 12V- (or similar) batteries. Recharged by solar or wind. Probably solar. As cheap and sustainable as possible. Walls might be made from pallets. Heating either from a stove or from a diesel heater - this is kind of sustainable if you use biodiesel and there is one lying around, maybe not working though.

My boat runs lighting and pump off of a 12-V battery and runs it through a breaker system - see no reason not to use the same breaker system, since it works and has nice flipswitches. Also, cool and good to have the same system on the boat and in a house. The boat also has a quite old solar cell that recharges the battery, so just beefing this system would work.

Milestones:

  • Sound system
  • insulation
  • Walls, Roof, Floors
  • Batteries
  • Solar cells (or other way to recharge)
  • Heating
  • Ventilation
  • Lighting
  • Biotoilet
  • Cleaning?

The goal is to make this cheap enough and modular enough that attaching a second unit can be done in the same way or if we get kicked out from wherever it is it can be removed fairly easily. A lot of the same thinking as in a boat.
